A Sweet Dream

I dreamt that night

Of empty spaces and solitude

I, me and myself, and

Death, a faithful companion

Come to me when day ends

And promised

'I be my love forever'

Then in smiles I give in

'I be with you forever'.

I see my lives ago flash

And they crash afore the heart

The purity of a sinner

The penance of truths

All they had fought,

Only to weekend the soul

But tonight, I rest

Solitary comfort of a beautiful friend

All in that sweet dream...

I wish I'd never woken from!
